 STRIX is conducting an exhaustive bats survey in a UNESCO World Heritage area, in Portugal.

STRIX is conducting bat inventories in the areas under the management of Parques de Sintra-Monte da Lua, S.A. (PSML).
Although several species of bats classified as " Endangered " or "Vulnerable" are documented at Sintra Mountain, there is no recent data on these populations, neither in relation to relative abundances nor in places where they exist.
The project activities include:
1. Bibliographic Survey;
2. Analysis of already known populations;
3. Study mortality causes;
4. Identification of new colonies, using shelter prospecting, acoustic detection, capture and telemetry.
The objective of the project is to carry out the complete inventory of the bat species present in the areas managed by PSML, characterizing their distribution and contributing to the objectives of PSLM’s Natural Values Management Plan.
